2021 MS State Chess Championship Completed!
Ridgeland, Mississippi, October 23-24, 2021 – The Mississippi Chess Association recently held its annual championship tournament at the C-spire Building at Renaissance in Ridgeland, MS. The event was the largest MCA state tournament in recent history with more than 50 participants in two sections.
1st place and 2021 Mississippi State Champion was Benson Schexnaydre of Franklin County; 2nd place Douglas Stewart of Madison and 3rd place Stephen Curry of Flowood.
U1500 section winners: 1st place Yashoda Sarathchandra of Clinton; 2nd place 4-way tie: Austen Johnson of Franklin County, Mark Nicholas of Flowood, Burks Rives of Oxford and Lucas Wang of Madison.
