This event is open to all MS students, exchange students at a MS school, MS Homeschoolers, or MS residents only. Players do not have to be on a team to play.
Team members and Individual players will compete together.
This is not a USCF RATED event.
We expect the awards ceremony to start around 5 pm.
This is a 5 round Swiss-Sys G-30. We strongly encourage the use of clocks and notations
Sections: K-3, K-4, K-5, K-6, K-8, K-10, K-12. We reserve the right to change the sections as needed before the event without notification until the morning of the event.
Teams can be from 2 to 10 players.
Only 10 players per team can pre-register any more will play as individuals and are subject to playing their schoolmates with no team separations.
Top 4 scores count towards placement and trophies.
Team members must be from the same school.
Only one team per School per Section. Trophies top 6 places all sections.
We may add more places based on the number of pre-registered players.
We have Trophies or Medals for everyone.
We will hold a raffle to benefit Blair E Batson Children’s Hospital.
Cajun Chess will be there with all your chess products for sale.
Snacks will be available.
Registration per Student is $30 if postmarked by 1/27. ON-SITE Registration 4pm to 8pm FRIDAY 2-1-08. 1st round starts at 9am 2-2-08. Rounds 2,3,4,5 follow ASAP. WE WILL NOT HAVE ANY ONSITE REGISTRATION THE MORNING OF THE EVENT. WE WILL POST A LIST OF REGISTERED PLAYERS FOR YOU TO CHECK FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY MORNING UNTIL 8AM.
THE ONLY ON-SITE REGISTRATION WILL BE FRIDAY 4-8pm

I-55 North Jackson take the Briarwood Rd Exit then go southbound on the frontage road
Clarion Hotel is on the right just after Jackson Dodge. If you get to the light at Old Canton, you have gone to far

All room types are Run of House and bedding type, location, floor, etc. are at hotel’s discretion. Check-in is 3:00PM and checkout is 11:00AM. Some free Breakfast buffet meals are part of the room charge.
Extra meals can be purchased on site. Inquire when making reservations for more details on the number of free breakfast buffets available with your room.
There is an onsite Restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
