I. Announcements

Report
a. Last
year’s balance as of 09/30/2005 $567.56

Balance as of 09/30/2006 $1422.42
4) When asked
about having tournaments in the Hattiesburg area, Douglas asked for members in
any area that wanted tournaments to be held to find a site that would be
suitable. MCA would be happy to hold tournaments anywhere in the State that
had a suitable site and we could expect a reasonable turn out.
5) New

II. Discussion
1) Ralph McNaughton moved to increase the number of
Vice Presidents to 3 in order to better represent the whole state. The motion
was seconded and passed.

III. Roundtable
- The Vice Presidents and any other USCF Member interested
were asked to become Club Tournament Directors
- Clay Polk indicated that he was interested.
- The Vice Presidents were asked to help run tournaments and
promote chess in their area
- It was requested that we use the TLAs in Chess Life more
often because this is the only way some of our members learn of our
tournaments.
- It was requested that we have at least one Grand Prix
event this next year.
- It was requested that Harold (Bill) Wheeler
Jr. would take over advertisement of tournament results and the
announcement of new tournaments by approaching the Journalism
Department at Mississippi College to see if we could get a student to
take on this task.
- It was requested and Steve Perry volunteered to annotate
tournament games.
- It was asked that the players (as much as possible)
record their games on computer and send the files to Steve.
- Douglas indicated that anyone interested in helping on the
website would be considered.
- Clay Polk said that one of his chess club members would
be interested.
- Ralph McNaughton said that he would be interested.
